Precision Sub Assembly Technology (PSAT) is a spin-off of Precision Surface Technology (PST) of Allentown, PA, incorporated more than twelve years ago, for dicing, polishing and sputtering of wafers for the semi-conductor and sensor industries. Being near AT&T Microelectronics facilities brought rapid growth to PSAT.

As an extension of existing services, PST began to populate boards; mostly prototypes for experimental or R&D purposes. That side of the business grew larger, and PST expanded into processing photoplots. . The acquisition of the present building solidified PST and made possible the spin-off of Precision Sub Assembly Technology.

Outside talent was subsequently brought in to sustain and increase the highly technical services and growth of PSAT. Due to equity participation of new arrivals, PSAT restructured into a minority owned small business. During the past two years, growth has been such that PSAT is pursuing certification under the 8(a) program of the SBA.

PSAT enjoys a solid financial position and continues to be backed by the strength of Precision Surface Technology.

Diversification into other areas resulted in two more spin-off companies, Precision Filter Technology and Precision Power Technology. Principals of Precision Sub Assembly Technology own and control both of these companies.

Precision Filter Technology (PFT) designs filters for microwave, cable TV, and custom applications for satellites. PFT also builds and tests these various custom filters; for high tech applications. Precision Power Technology (PPT) designs and builds high reliability custom power supplies.

The manufacturing arm for both PFT and PPT is Precision Sub Assembly Technology.
